Multimedia Award

The Multimedia Award recognizes outstanding storytellers using lens-based media to create narrative-driven projects. The award is open, but not limited to, photography, video, new media, photojournalism, installation, and web-based works. Projects that inspire social action, document crucial issues, and amplify underrepresented voices are encouraged to apply.

We are adding to our database and archive of lens-based work from the last 30 years and invite you to contribute. All applicant’s work will remain in the CENTER archive, regardless of award status.

  • 1) Fill out the application form and pay.

    2) Prepare up to 6 images or video files* and a project statement limited to 400 words.

    3) Upload your application before the final submission deadline of March 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM MT.

Sam Wolson – Interactives Visual Features Editor, The New Yorker

Sam Wolson is the Interactives Visual Features Editor at The New Yorker, as well as a director, photographer, and journalist focused on creating work at the intersection of documentary storytelling and emerging technology. He has worked globally as a visual storyteller, with his projects premiering at festivals such as Sundance, Venice, and SXSW. He co-directed We Who Remain, the first character-driven VR film shot in an active war zone, and his immersive project Reeducated earned both a Peabody Award and an Emmy.
